I would like to bring to your attention a show that is currently in development
and has obtained the interest of USA Network. The show that is being propoTsed
will be entitled USAR-1. Yes, this will be a show about Urban Search and Rescue,
the type of issues/incidents that you are dealing with on a regular basis. It
is hoped that through this show there will become more awareness of the work that
USAR teams provide and that it will give you the type of recognition that is deserved
of all those who work and train so hard for this type of job. I know in the 70's,
the show, "Emergency!" provided the type of exposure that the paramedic program
needed and the amount of respect that they deserved. This could happen for USAR
too. Currently there is a letter writing campaign underway to USA Network, to
let them know that there is an interest in this type of programming and there
is support from many sources that would welcome a show like this. What we are
asking is if there are any of your members who would like to support this show,
to please take a few moments to write to USA Network and let them know that you
support the idea. It is hoped that by showing USA Network there is a strong base
of viewers that they will pick-up this show. The information for the letter writing

Commissioner election upcoming in September. Union firefighters are backing a

Hello to all of my fellow firefighters and emts. Just a word to say hi to everyone
in the AAVFD and let you know what kind of people are associated with the AAVFD.
The AAVFD is made up of caring, loving, thoughtful, helpful people who dedicate
their time and lives to saving the property and lives of their fellow citizens.
I can say that I am PROUD to be associated with the AAVFD not only as district
10 alternate director, but as a Volunteer fire fighter and EMT. Any Dept in the
state of Al that is not associated with the AAVFD is greatly missing out on a
lot of opportunities that the AAVFD can give you. Looking forward to coming to
Florence for the August conference. and Also looking forward to the RCFPI dinner
in MArch. Keep up the good work and I will always be a strong advocate.

had one catch fire. so i did some checking and found out that fisher price has
had five fires or they got hot enough to start a fire. i got this from fisher
price and the consumer product reports under the freedom of information act. and
they fill there safe yet. well as a exfireman i find this unsafe for you and your
